“Father, forgive them” reinterprets one of the most poignant moments in the Gospels.
Rather than depicting the physical pain of sacrifice, the work focuses on Christ's face, on that gaze toward heaven where suffering is transformed into love and resentment into mercy.
Jesus, crowned with thorns, responds not with anger, but with compassion. His gesture embodies the victory of forgiveness over hatred, the strength of the spirit over wounds.
This painting does not seek to show martyrdom, but rather the greatness of the soul that chooses to forgive even in the darkest moments…
